The Norwegian Buhund is a spitz type breed. It makes an excellent house-dog and although their warning bark will deter unwelcome visitors despite their relatively small size, they are never aggressive In Norwegian, hund means dog but refers to herding, and the breed is really good at its other tasks as well.
The Breed Standard calls for a height of 17¾" with the females slightly smaller, and although they are lightly built they are very solid.
