I mean, why would any sane company offer to allow me to store my photographs online in their space and what’s more, even give me the option to get prints of my photographs for free? Even in the neighborhood store where I usually get my photos printed, I am charged nearly an arm and a leg, and they offer no free storage and retrieval system. So what is it about online photo printing that made it seem like such a winning proposition?<br /> <br /> The answer was not difficult to fathom. First and foremost, there are as many companies offering online photo printing as there are companies offering online photo storage. Could there be a link? You bet. It was nearly always that the company that offered online photo storage offered online photo printing. And why did they do this? One good guess was that they wanted more and more users to store their photographs with them, thereby increasing the possibility of repeated usage. After all, if you had your precious memories stored with an online service provider, you were not likely to ditch it all and to shift your loyalty to another person who did practically the same thing right? The second good guess was that since digital photography had all bust eliminated the need for tangible, physical prints, these companies were seeking to cash in on the ability of printed photographs to evoke memories and emotions.<br /> <br /> A colleague of mine also gave me a rather controversial thought about the secret behind online photo printing. I still view this theory of his with a little bit of skepticism. He claims that online photo printing, especially of the free variety, is little more than a scam by savvy color printer and photo printer manufacturers to get people to keep taking physical prints of all their digital photographs. <br /> <br /> He even went to great lengths to explain how these manufacturers got these online photo printing service providers to go in for hire purchase schemes of their printers and how they subsidized the cost of printing in order to lure more and more users to access the service. <br /> <br /> Be that as it may, one thing is for certain. Online photo printing is something that I have found to be tremendously useful.
